Any of you guys build a refer this big? I heard from my boss that this guy does two of these a year, wow. If that is true and one goes sour he's f#%$!*....

These refer jobs are priced by the SQ foot right? Like 15-18$ SQ' or something like that.

My experience lies with repairing the refrigeration on those warehouses. The largest warehouse I worked on was a 6000 sq. ft. frozen food facility. High stress job, on call 24/7. Higher service rates as well. They were willing to pay more to have someone there muy pronto when things went bad.
Those look more like A/C units in that picture, Johnny. Is this an air conditioned warehouse or a refrigerated warehouse? Either way it will make someone a bunch of money. You ought to try to get the service contract on that building.
Hey Breeze, I don't think this is an ice rink. Those columns would be brutal to fall against.:)

Kind of hard for me to tell from the pic what it is.

I wonder what that would be used for... Meat / Fish packing plant ?

The concrete in refrigerated spaces has to be sealed with an epoxy coating. Expensive as hell but it lasts a long time. I makes the floors shiny and slippery as ice unless they threw in the anti-slip powder with the epoxy. This type of place could be used for just about any product that needed refrigeration. I didn't see any coils hanging from the ceiling, nor any actual refrigeration units for the roof. Places that are used for meats and produce must have good humidity control, as well as temperature control.

What's the equipment? Look like big Yorkie rooftoppers to me.

Its a warehouse for the Kraft Foods, I think its high temp refer, 40-60deg maybe. So is that still considered AC and not refer?
This is just one wall not even halfway done. They got the holes cut through the roof but no curbing yet I think. They got the electric piped over. I'll find out more soon I got 6-7k of dock door light and fans to repair there.

I did a service call on a PTAC in the Swift Ekrich plant over here. It had a below freezing refer that big. It was a big Amonia system with vapor compression from 6 - big semi hermetic 6-8 cylinder compressor running balls out. Pretty cool. The guy showing me around worked in the wast water part of factory. He was telling me how he and 5 others got legionares (SP) and he was the only survivor. He told me at the time he wished he had died...

Owns a local ice manufacturing and cold storage business. The installed a huge freezer box inside of a wharehouse. Box is split into two compartments, I think they are around 12-1400 sq. feet by 16 feet high.
Problem is the floor is starting to heave, there must be water getting under the concrete floor somehow.

Look at that! I hope no one has to ever braze in new TEVs and distributers. lookie (http://breezeaire.com/public/TEVs.JPG ) Funny looking.....its over 30' high. Do you think it was placed on the web joist due to the weight of RTU?

Cooling only, the dampers modulate so could they be used for slowing down CFM for de-humidification?
