Anyone here seen the new service/deliver trucks that DHL and FEDEX are using. I think it maybe a Frieghtliner or GMC makes the thing. It's tall and narrow and I think it's called a "SPRINT"

If you type "sprint service truck" into google, you get 200 pages of sprint cellular crap.

anyone got a website for this kind of truck

I talked to an A/C guy at a supply house that is running one of the Dodge versions with diesel.
He claims he gets around 30 mpg in the city.
The ladder is waaayyyy up there but he had a rack that folded down to the side to unload it.

A lot of room on the side for ads and graphics.

Dang-nabit, I think that would make one fine service vehicle:bama

It would be nice to stand up inside a van without hitting your head. I used a step van for a while and it was real nice to be able to lock up everything easily. It had a 4 cylender Cummins diesel. It got good mileage. It had acres of space for signs. It had some drawbacks, like no air conditioning and terrible heating, so I finally traded it in on my Chevy service truck.

the web site says this truck will go 713 miles between fuel stops, thats 3.5 times are far as I can go now. The nearest dealer to me is in Syracuse, so I may have to make a few phone calls to see how much this thing costs

I bought one of Chevrolet's new service truck cargo vans last year. The 3 panel sides flip up on remote control for easy access to the bins. I have it set up real efficient for service. Basically only use the inside for equipment. I really enjoy it too. You could also use it for an ice cream truck when you retire. :D

If there is a problem, the way the bins are designed, the high efficiency condensers are going to be tight or not fit at all.

they do look pretty nice. I just have to call and get a price on a basic truck, you know, 4 tires, a stearing wheel and some paint.

They probably want 30 grand for the thing

ya, the thing has got to be brutle in high winds, which is a problem around here, since the last 5-6 days we have had 15+ MPH winds ALL day.

The thread of my dreams

So what about me and my needs? What would be a good step up from my Ford E350? Should I sell mine with or with out the new wheels?

Should I go used or new? It cant be too big do to HOA by laws. I would like one with ample storage but also good gas mileage. Any thing over 8mpg with the wind at my tail lights would be a big

I have also been looking at Chevy's new G-350, 155" wheel base, with full time all wheel drive, ( basicly the van I have now, except with AWD )

I would like to put some nice chrome wheels on it, :chill
