Well soon it will be time to plant potatoes. I am thinking of going with the tire method. My son picked up some race tires that were in someones trash. I think they will look nice in front yard. First I might just place them out there across from the HOA VP, see re action then go along with filling them and planting.
The idea behind this method is you stack tires slowly as plant grows, adding more and more compost/vermiculite/peat in equal amounts. The stem of plant gets stretched so you will get more tators per tire/plant.
Some go as high as 4 tires. I think 2 will be enough.
There are also trash can and bag methods. All of which should look really nice in the front yard.
